Gap Jump Session in Thyon

After one week of riding pow in Saas Fee we went for a daytrip to Thyon in the next valley.
On our arrival the Central Park in Thyon presented a pretty nice Gap Jump that was waiting to get destroyed.
And thats what we did !
After the first overshoot from Alessandro we started to bring our tricks over the Gap.
I had the best feeling doing a bs Rodeo 7 right into the sweetspot.
Pretty sick was Alessandro`s cab 1080 nosegrab into the flatpart of the landing !
All in one a nice springday and now we ´re heading back to Saas Fee for more powder.

AVALANCE

hello,
last days we have been at kühtai to get the last powder of the season and some quateraction on some windlips.
first day I went there just by my own and gopro cam. it was such an epic day. I didnt expect powder at all, what a success!! at the end of the day I found one big run, untracked and in good condition I thought. So I called a friend and the next day we went there to climb for half an our to the top of the mountain. I already did thay run couple years ago, so I tought it could be quite safe, but it wasnt. We checked our Pieps and Marx dropped into the run first with gopro cam. in the middle he went on the side to film me coming down. So I dropped, did a backsideturn and heard while doing a fronsidespray the snow cracking around me. All the snow was just into small pieces! Trust me, you never want to have that feeling, I was so scared but did the right thing in that moment. I push my edge into the snow and crossed the slope. As you can see on the picture, the dimension of that avalance was big. Nothing happend to Marx and me!
So we are happy still to be alive.
That showed me once again, that I have to take even more attention to the current snow condition.

me again,
just one day after coming back from stylesession in kleinwalsertal we decided to go to levanto in italy trying to get the first waves that year. it sounds weird, one day powder next day waves...so almost 10 people made it to the small village in nothern italy. It was such a nice time there. we had 4 days gipsylife, just eating on parking spaces and sleeping under bridges! so much fun. and for sure the first waves that year. they were changing from double-head to tiny!so crazy..

hope that it´s gonna be the same condition like that the next weeks again...these days just showed us that surfing isn´t comparable with any other boardsports. it´s the best at all!

hello,
aron,friedl and me were at the Playboard-Stylesession last week. It was all around good time there with sauna, different wheather conditions and hours of building step-up kickers. Here some random shots while aron is sleeping with a pillow on his head, too much snorring.

Powderdays in April ;)

After one season of begging for the real pow, suddenly it just came out of nowhere. We were shooting at a drop down kicker with a just to pad down windlip. Besides I just wanted to go for a little spray on this one and it turned out to be a deep experience ;) Cheers Friedl

Hallo!

Here we go again. Yesterday we had a parkshooting with our filmcrew LaFamiglia.
Today it was supposed to be bad weather, so I thought about testing my new remotecontroller for the photocamera.
After my first tries to get a nice picture, the sun came out and I managed to trigger the remotecontrol in the air while grabbing and being in the right place to take the picture. Sounds weird, but I´ve taken the picture while jumping.
It was a really nice experience, and I´m looking forward to do it again...

MBM SESSION

Hey everyone!
From March 6 till 12 the Monster Session went down in Kleinwalsertal/Austria. About 60 Riders and Fotographers spent a whole week just shooting, to fill next years MBM Monster Session issue. We were pretty lucky, cause it was snowing hard at the arrival day and afterwards we experienced 5 blue bird days out of 6! Friedl May, Rene Biedenkap, Nicholas Wolken and I (Thaler) held up the flags for La Famiglia!
Like true Boarders we spent the time after shredding at the wellnes area of the hotel and the nights drinking Ice tea and watching Desperate Housewifes and Germanies next Topmodel!
All in all, it was again a great week with powder, sun and friends, can't get any better than that!
Thanks to MBM and to all the people for some good ass time!

Let´s go

Uns trieb die Sucht nach frischem Schnee ins ungewisse. Das erste Ziel war Timisoara/Rumänien, hier trafen wir auf Dumi unseren Kontaktmann. Wir organisierten ein Skidoo ohne das in den rumänischen Bergen nicht viel geht. Mit dem Skidoo kommt und darf man hier überall hin. Genau das hätten wir auch gern gemacht. Leider wurde Dracula aus unerklärlichen Gründen sauer und beschenkte uns in den 8 Tagen auf dem Berg mit Schneesturm, Nebel, sichtweiten von ca. 30m und Schneefall... Fuck the Fog and don´t mess with Dracula.

SAAS FEE and a dead CAR called "RIPITI"

hello,
first the worst news. our good old friend called "RIPITI" is dead. we tried the best to keep him alive, but in the end hanne and me lost the game. now it´s time to search a replacement car...
just came back from one week arlberg and saas fee with freddy and alessandro. first two days we went to arlberg with otto and tried to do some backcountry action there, but it was quit warm temperatures and quit hard to stick tricks. after otto traveled back to helsinki freddy and me made it to alessandro´s flat in saas fee.5h drive...
we didn´t have that much luck cause of a lack of snow and freezing windy conditions. but we did the best and got some shots in that forest and some icerides up on the glacier. sometimes it almost seemed to be summertime and just couple hours later it was super freezing cold.
now in ibk it´s dumping and back to universtity...damn..
will get some news from freddy, willi, aron and fabian, they made it for a 10 day trip to rumania....

Benen bei der Arbeit

Die Arlbergregion lockte Marius Otterstad, Otto Veijola, Fabian Fassnacht, Flo Thaler, Nicholas Wolken, Filmer Bene und Producent Fredy mit blauem Vogel (blue Bird) und gutem Schnee aus den vertrackten Hängen von Leogang heraus. Der ein oder andere kochte sein eigenes Süppchen, wärend Flo und Nicholas einen Powderspray nach dem anderen einsackten und sich die Clippen und Windlips runter schmissen als hätten sie Känguhrusalami gefrühstückt.

Irgendwann fanden wir Otto der noch seine eigene Flugstunde einläutete, das ganze ohne Pilotenschein, Bäääm oida!!
Gleich zwei Klippen weiter kochten Marius und Fabian an ihrem eigenen Süppchen in Form eines Kickers der die beiden am nächsten Tag über ein Gap in eine Windlip schießen sollte.
Chilliges Bierchen im Funky Chicken am Abend und so...
Leider machten uns graue Schäfchen am Himmel einen Strich durch die Rechnng. Ein kurzes Sonnenfenster sollte es beiden erlauben den Kicker einmal zu machen und dann gabs Flatlight vom feinsten.
Einer der besten Parks in den Alpen zog uns noch am Abend nach Livingo zum Glück spielte das Wetter mit.
Nach einer harten, Alkohl durchträngten Nacht machte sich Marius auf nach Oslo und Fredy und Otto düsten zu Fabian nach Davos.
Hippi Komune2 lud zum Chillen ein, W-lan ohne ende, Olympia in der Glotze und Bier vom Balkon. Noch Fragen??
Im Gebiet gab es genügend PowPow, also machten wir uns nach einigen sicken Runs auf einen Kicker zu bauen. Das macht so viel Spass wenn man bis zum Bauchnabel im Powder steht und der Schnee nicht pappt.Fredy versuchte den Pow mit Bodyheating pappig zu machen. Nachdem wir 4 Studnen lang zu fünft eine halbe Wächte abgetragen hatten musten wir uns spute den letzten Lift zu bekommen.
Der zweite Tag zeigte sich mit grauen Schäfchen am Himmel, kein schönes Licht zum Kicker shooten. Nach ein paar Lifestylebildern von Fabian zwischen Bierdosen und Gitarre machte wir uns auf zur Pipe am Bolgen. Otto war happy mal eine gute Pipe zu shredden und Fabian stylte Tricks aus der Pipe. Hell Yea This Dude Rockzzz!!!!!!
Am morgen um sieben schellte der Wecker, der blaue Vogel stand am Himmel und
der erste Lift sollte und ins Gebiet bringen.
Der Kicker war nach kurzem Finetuneing ready to hit. Ready...? Yea Ready...! Ok...!! Drop In!!!
Kaum vom Berg runter verteilten sich alle in verschiedene Himmelsrichtungen. Fabian machte sich auf nach Paris um dort mit Iouri Podladtchikov eine Party zu crashen, Otto fuhr nach Livingo zum River Jump, Fredy musste nach zwei Wochen auf Achse mal seine Tasche umpacken, ich fuhr zurück zum Arlberg.
